Foreign hackers sent phishing emails to teachers and students in an effort to obtain personal information, according to a June announcement from China's Northwestern Polytechnical University, which is well-known for its aviation, aerospace, and navigation programmes.
A Chinese technical team's study revealed that the NSA's Tailored Access Operations (TAO), a hacking division, was responsible for the university's breach.
China has been accusing the United States of cyberattacks for a while, but without providing any details. However, as tensions between the two countries in the cybersphere have risen in recent weeks, Beijing has become more outspoken in attributing specific assaults to the U.S.
