Meet the Oscar nominees for the class of 2023! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored this year's crop of actors, directors, and artists on Monday at its annual nominees' luncheon. Austin Butler, Angela Bassett, Colin Farrell, Steven Spielberg, Lady Gaga, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Andrea Riseborough, Michelle Williams, and Brian Tyree Henry are a few of this year's candidates. Furthermore, in a video posted on the Academy's YouTube page on Monday, all the Oscar nominees present at the luncheon posed for a group shot while their names were spoken one by one. However, Rihanna, who performed at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show and earned a nomination for her work on the song "Lift Me Up" from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, was conspicuously absent from the group shot because the Super Bowl had just ended the night before.

What's more

Numerous nominees expressed their responses to their nominations last month. The Whale actor Fraser, 54, said in a statement that he was "absolutely overjoyed and deeply grateful" for the accolade, calling it a "gift I certainly didn't see coming, but it's one that has profoundly changed my life." If she can do it, I can freaking well do it as well.' That is the most important thing. I'm very ordinary. I just work very hard." On another note, John Williams, the composer of The Fabelmans who this year surpassed his own record for the most Oscar nominations for a living person, remarked, "I'm very grateful to the Academy for their kind recognition, and I'm enormously grateful to Steven Spielberg for offering me the opportunity to compose the score for this very special and personal film." Lastly, the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood will host the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12, and ABC will broadcast the event live. In addition, Jimmy Kimmel will serve as the host.
