According to several news sources, a 23-year-old pregnant woman was killed over the weekend in a suspected drunken collision that caused the car to split into several pieces. Additionally, Adriana Sylmetaj was ejected from the passenger seat and had major traumatic injuries when a Dodge automobile smashed into a wooden pole in Staten Island, New York, at around 4:45 a.m. on January 28, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
Furthermore, according to CBS News, the car’s 30-year-old driver, Adem Nikeziq, was later detained and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, driving while intoxicated, and other offenses. In addition, reports stated that Nikeziq was sent to a nearby hospital after sustaining minor injuries. On the other hand, Sylmetaj, who was expecting at the moment of collision, was declared dead at the scene.
