The most recent developer build of Windows 11 from Microsoft includes new video calling features for Chat from Microsoft Teams as well as support for third-party widget development.  In addition, people who are members of the Windows Insider program can access the new features in Preview Build 25217. Widgets that can be added to the Windows 11 widgets panel can now be created and tested by developers.  The most recent Insider Preview build is currently the only place where new third-party widgets can be tested; however, once the build is properly published to the public, they will be available on the Microsoft Store for the shipping version of respective apps. A stylish new Teams video feature is supported by a new Windows 11 Insider release Although support for Progressive Web App (PWA) Widgets is anticipated as part of Microsoft Edge 108, Microsoft claims that Widgets can currently only be generated for packaged Win32 programs. For a small number of Insiders, the Insider preview also offers a first glimpse at a new video calling feature for Chat from Microsoft Teams on Windows 11.  Soon, when you launch Chat from the taskbar, you'll be able to see a preview of your personal video feed, enabling you to make any necessary adjustments to your appearance or identify any background difficulties before beginning a chat. A "limited group of users" will already be able to use the functionality as part of a sneak preview release, while Microsoft aims to make this experience more widely accessible in the upcoming months. To see if you are one of the fortunate few chosen, you can manually start Chat from your Windows 11 taskbar. A few additional feature enhancements are also included in the Insider Preview Build 25217, such as enhanced cloud suggestions, integrated search suggestions for Simplified Chinese, and some Microsoft Store design modifications.  To save you from unintentionally purchasing a game you might already have access to for free, the store now makes it clearer if a game is included in Game Pass. A performance improvement and several more straightforward options are also coming to the Game Pass library. While it will take some time before these upgrades are included in the public Windows 11 build, if you're very eager to test them out, you can join the Windows Insider Program and receive the most recent developer releases as soon as they become available.
