The major update for the iPhone this year was iOS 16, which was released in September. Following that, in October, Apple released iPadOS 16 for iPads and macOS Ventura for Mac computers. One more update is currently being distributed before the new year. On all three platforms, a few new features are coming. The first is a brand-new "Freeform" app that works like a digital whiteboard, complete with images, sticky notes, and other features. It also allows you to invite others for remote access and editing. Additionally, Apple's Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, which it unveiled last week as an optional end-to-end encrypted mode for the majority of iCloud features, is now operational. With resolutions up to 6K available on iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation and later), and iPad Air, iPadOS 16.2 reintroduces external display support for Stage Manager (5th generation). ” Up to four apps can be running simultaneously on the iPad's screen and four more on an external screen. On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, use the Settings app to check for updates. Owners of iPhone and iPad devices can activate the brand-new Apple Music "Sing" feature to show a karaoke view with fully customizable vocals and beat-by-beat lyrics. A new HomeKit software platform for mobile devices is also available, offering more comprehensive Matter smart home device support.
