Apple recently
unveiled a redesigned HomePod that supports Matter, but it appears the firm has bigger
plans for smart homes for the remainder of 2023. The most recent
Bloomberg story claims that Apple is supposedly developing an iPad-like tablet that would directly compete with Google's Nest Hub Max and
Amazon's Echo Show.
Although there are few details available, it appears that the anticipated product would have a touchscreen and operate similarly to an iPad. It could be installed on a wall using magnets, and HomeKit would give it access to all of your smart home gadgets.

Whether the gadget would have a stand so that it could be placed on your counters like the Echo Show and Nest Hub is unknown at this time. The HomePod Mini could be a terrific option to use HomePod Mini as a HomeKit hub, but it is evident that Apple wants to establish a greater presence in the smart home market.

The Matter interoperability standard, which will let products from Apple, Google, Amazon, and other companies to function well across ecosystems, has the full support of Apple. The new HomePod significantly incorporates Matter, and as the year goes on, its importance is only predicted to increase. It also makes sense for Apple to introduce a first-party smart display if the company is genuinely committed to Matter and the smart home market as a whole.
