With the 2023 models, there may be a wider gap in features between the iPhone and iPhone Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, according to a leaked antenna design document obtained by MacRumors, will have WiFi 6E connectivity, whereas their less expensive siblings will not. The document, which is a diagram of the antenna architecture of the iPhone 15 line, reveals that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to use the older WiFi 6 standard.
WiFi 6E connectivity is present in some of the most recent Apple products, including the recently announced M2 versions of the Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro. However, the company has yet to make the feature available to a broader audience.
The standard promises faster connectivity speeds and lower latency than WiFi 6, provided that your device can connect to a WiFi 6E router that is compatible with it. Due to the fact that the majority of homes and businesses are using older WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 routers, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may not affect the majority of customers.
According to MacRumors, Apple has not previously restricted the iPhone Pro models' access to new WiFi standards. Unless you were interested in photography, the differences between the Pro and standard models before the iPhone 14 line were hardly noticeable. However, Apple's new A16 Bionic chip, Dynamic Island cutout, and ProMotion display were only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max as of the previous year.
It now appears that the company is attempting to differentiate its Pro models even further from their more commonplace counterparts. Apple's upcoming A16 chipset, a titanium frame, and more RAM for multitasking are among the other features that could be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, according to previous reports. Solid-state volume and power buttons may also be available on the phones.
