Apple published iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5 beta 4 on Tuesday, after the fourth betas of watchOS 9.5 and tvOS 16.5 for developers. New sports-related features and general improvements are included in the update.
What’s new in iOS 16.5?
Registered developer beta testers will be able to access iOS 16.5 beta 4 starting today. You can apply the update as it becomes available over the air in the ensuing hour by navigating to the Settings app, selecting General, and then selecting Software Update. The update for today has build 20F5059a.
As attention begins to turn to iOS 17, which will be unveiled at WWDC next month, iOS 16.5 doesn’t contain many noteworthy updates.
With the addition of new screen recording commands in iOS 16.5’s Siri, it is now possible to start or stop a screen recording. The update also includes the addition of a specific Sports tab to the Apple News app, which has long been a popular request among sports enthusiasts.
