(Image credit- Times Now) Apple's iOS 17 is now out and made its keynote appearance at WWDC 2023. Highlights include improved auto-correct and speech transcription, live voicemail, enhanced safety features, a built-in journaling app, a new nightstand mode, and revamped contact cards. Additionally, you will be able to eliminate the "hey" from "Hey Siri." Posters, a new feature that transforms contact cards into eye-catching marquee-like graphics that appear full-screen on your recipient's iPhone when you call them, is a feature added to your contact book. They have the same design aesthetic as the updated lock screens, offer options for bold writing and Memoji, and are compatible with third-party VoIP applications. What's New

Another recent addition to voicemail is live transcription, which enables you to see a transcript of the message a caller is now leaving in real time. It's all handled on the device, and you have the option of hanging up or continuing to wait. Additionally, FaceTime will allow you to leave a message. The ability to filter searches with additional terms, a feature that jumps to the most recent message so you can catch up more easily, voice message transcriptions (similar to what the Pixel 7 series introduced), and a series of new features called 'Check In' that shares your live location and status with someone else are some updates to messages. If you're in an inaccessible zone, it can also communicate your phone's battery and cell service status to help prevent confusion. Another update to stickers is the ability to add any emoji or photo cutout as a "sticker" and place it anywhere in the system, including iMessage. You can now add effects to stickers and create animated stickers from live photographs as well. More Features

By bringing two iPhones close to one another, NameDrop, an updated version of AirDrop that sends contact information, will send your chosen phone numbers and email addresses (as well as your poster). Additionally, an Apple Watch and an iPhone can use it. The same method may be used to exchange photos, and if the file is large, it is now allowed to leave the area while the download is still in progress. Updates to the keyboard in iOS 17 also include improvements to the autocorrect feature. It now uses a new language model for improved accuracy and has a simpler shortcut to go back to the word you originally typed if necessary. More grammatical errors are now being corrected using in-line predictive typing and sentence-level autocorrections. It will finally pick up on your preferred foul language; Apple's Craig Federighi even cracked a "ducking" joke live on stage. A newer, more precise AI model is also used for dictation. You can include activities, music, and images in your entries, and you can set up recurring reminders to get writing. For added privacy, it is end-to-end encrypted.

Standby Charging Mode

A new charging mode called StandBy converts the screen into a time and date-based status indicator. When your phone is charging in landscape mode, it instantly turns on and can display information from widgets, smart stacks, and Live Activities. With configurable clockfaces, you may swipe to the right to view some of your highlighted photos. In StandBy, Siri will present visual findings; at night, the display changes to a red tone to prevent disruption of sleep. Not to mention, Siri receives a boost and now allows you to eliminate the "hey" from "Hey Siri." Additionally, it will acknowledge multiple commands.
