Apple’s standalone classical music app will roll out on March 28 for iOS.

Image Credit: Bgr.com On March 28, Apple Music Classical, a standalone app prethat focuses on the genre, will go live. The company's initial goal was to introduce a classical music-focused app by the end of the previous year, but that goal was later pushed back to 2021 when Primephonic was acquired. It could not start its journey as expected either. For now, it will appear in the form of a standalone release in the App Store as opposed to being natively bundled into iOS. Any regular Apple Music subscription grants access to the app. The Apple Music Classical app will be distinct from the main Apple Music app and is currently available for preorder in the App Store. But a $17 per month Apple One subscription or most Apple Music subscriptions (aside from the basic Apple Music Voice tier, which costs $5 per month) will grant access to the service. In August 2021, Apple made the decision to buy the streaming service Primephonic. If you are wondering why a dedicated app for classical music might be beneficial then we are supposed to tell you that you could search for music not just by song title or composer, but also by the name of the orchestra that recorded it, the conductor who oversaw it, or details about soloists or other performers. In addition to other characteristics, Primephonic could explain the various possible spellings of composers' names. The Android version of Apple Music Classical is reportedly "coming soon," according to a press release by Apple. But for now, it will only be available on iOS devices. The multi-platform nature of the regular Apple Music service makes it logical for Classical to do the same. It will work with iOS 15.4 and later and be accessible "worldwide where Apple Music is offered," though the company says this program will launch in China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan later.
