According to reports, Audi has officially unveiled the newest electric SUV under the e-Tron brand, the Q8 crossover SUV.

Three AWD powertrain options will be available for the Q8 e-Tron and its Sportback variant:

  • Q8 50
  • Q8 55
  • SQ8

The base Q8 50 model has a 250KW peak power and 490 lb-ft of torque, while the Q8 55 has a peak output of 300KW and 490 lb-ft. The top-of-the-line SQ8 will also have three motors that can produce 717 ft-lb of torque and 370 kW.

A net 89 kWh battery pack with a 150 kW charging capacity will also be included with the Q8 50s. The Q8 55s, on the other hand, has a larger net 106 kWh pack that is capable of 170kW charging rates.

An L3 DC fast charger can also recharge the 55s from 10 to 80 percent in more than 30 minutes. The alternatives for wall boxes for at-home charging will determine this, though.

The ideal charging time for a Q8 5-on an 11 kW outlet is about nine hours, whilst a Q8 55 needs at least 11 hours to properly recharge its batteries.

More effective motors with 14-coil power plants that can produce a stronger magnetic field are included in the new e-Tron range. Because of this, e-Tron cars can produce higher torque as necessary.

Additionally, the bit will step that power down when it’s not required, extending the vehicle’s range.

The exteriors are additionally made to minimize air resistance. The Q8 Sportback has a drag coefficient of 0.24, whereas the Q8 e-Tron has a drag coefficient of 0.28.
