Austin Butler said he was "getting rid" Elvis Presley accent as it "probably damaged my vocal cords"

Austin Butler is still having a physical impact from his Oscar-nominated performance in
Elvis. Butler, 31, revealed on Friday's episode of
The Graham Norton Show that "One song took 40 takes" while he was filming performance parts as the late music icon Elvis Presley.
Additionally, the actor said that he was "getting rid of the accent" that he had maintained since completing filming on Baz Luhrmann's
Elvis almost two years ago when discussing his role in the upcoming
Dune: Part Two. However, Butler said, "But I have probably damaged my vocal cords with all that singing," on the BBC One program.
Furthermore, Austin Butler admitted backstage at the Golden Globes that he "didn't even think about" if he might have retained some of the character's distinctive voice in his acceptance speech after winning the prize for best actor in a motion picture, drama. He continued, "I don't think I sound like him still, but I guess I must because I hear it all the time."

Knock at the Cabin actor, 54, also claimed that Butler's
Elvis accent will not be present for his upcoming part in the
Dune sequel.
Bautista stated, "I don't know who this guy was, but it's not Austin Butler. It's not Elvis. His voice is different, his look is different." He also teased, "Everything about his demeanor is terrifying [in the upcoming movie]."
