The author purportedly disclosed her purported fraud after pretending to be died for more than two years: She appears to be fine and living. Meachen reportedly wrote a lengthy statement Tuesday night in a closed Facebook group called "The Ward" outlining her alleged faux fatality. A sharp-eyed Twitter user provided screenshots of the message, which stated, "I pondered on how to do this a million times and still not sure if it's proper or not." There will probably be a number of inquiries and departures from the group. But I can't hold anything against my family; they did what they believed was best for me. "I am in a good place right now, and I hope to write again. Returning to The Ward doesn't mean much. Start having fun now. However, it appears that the bizarre story didn't start this week. Meachen, a 14-book author, began spinning her web of apparent lies over three years ago when, according to Insider, she complained to her 1,300 Facebook fans about her writing troubles in a since-deleted post on Facebook in September 2020. Additionally, the tweet noted that her last book would be released exactly one month later, on October 30. There was a paper trail of complaints that appeared to support the purported suicide, which made the news that the budding novelist had allegedly died weeks later all the more credible. It was supposedly revealed in a since-deleted Facebook post that Meachen's profile will continue to promote her final book, a romance titled "Love to Last a Lifetime." The author of the post claimed to be the late novelist's daughter.
