Bed bugs have taken over the Rivian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plan in a remote location.
The latest issue arises as the manufacturer of all-electric vehicles works to increase production of its R1S SUV and R1T pickup.
In its factory for electric vehicles, Rivian is reportedly dealing with yet another problem. This time, the car manufacturer learned that bed bugs had begun to arrive in its EV production. To be more accurate, an "isolated region" of the EV maker's manufacturing facility appears to have been plagued with bed bugs.
According to Rivian's representative, Zach Dietmeier, they are now investigating the bed insect infestation situation in their EV factory.
According to a representative for Rivian, they "examine every claim and take appropriate actions as per our pest control contractor."
Dietmeier described the EV startup's steps to combat the infestation in an email statement to Business Insider.
To start with, the automaker has already contacted a pest control company to handle it.
Additionally, Rivian made the decision to isolate all of its forklifts in the infected area. The EV manufacturer has handled this machinery. Over the weekend, it intends to carry out the same procedure on the rest of its plant.
The American automaker also treated all of its shuttles for transportation-related bugs.
Rivian makes it clear that it's merely a precaution. Therefore, this does not necessarily imply that these bothersome bugs have also infested the shuttles. Here, the EV manufacturer is simply trying to be extra cautious.
