BMW announces three new EVs for its summer 2023 lineup

Image credit : Edmunds Today, BMW unveiled additional EVs for its summer 2023 portfolio. The i4 xDrive 40, the i7 eDrive50 with a single motor, and the hybrid 750e xDrive are some of the new models. For some models, the company also unveiled an improved infotainment operating system. The well-liked Gran Coupe is available in an all-wheel-drive, 396-horsepower version called the 2024 i4 xDrive40. With its dual motors and normal 18-inch tyres, the all-electric car has a range of roughly 307 miles (with optional 19-inch wheels, the range lowers to about 282 miles). In addition, the EV has a 4.9 second zero to 60 time. The starting price for the i4 xDrive40 is $61,600 plus a $995 destination charge. Deliveries to US customers should start in the third quarter of 2023, according to BMW. While range and performance specifics will be revealed by BMW "closer to market launch" this autumn, we already know the model will start at $105,700 (including destination fee). Last but not least, the 750e xDrive combines a 194-horsepower electric motor with a six-cylinder internal combustion engine that produces 308 horsepower. It also has 516 lb-ft of torque and 483 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid's pure electric range is also estimated to be 35 miles. The starting price and destination charge for the 750e xDrive are both $107,000. This autumn sees the launch there as well. BMW Operating System 8.5 adds "clearly arranged functions" to the home screen that are optimized for the company's curved display. It does away with sub-menus and use widgets organized vertically on the driver's side to adhere to the "zero-layer principle" that maintains all pertinent controls and information on a single level. Additionally, it has shortcuts for the navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto as well as the climate control menu.
