To prevent further issues or threats to the driver and passengers, the business has already issued a "Do Not Drive" notice for up to 90,000 cars that are impacted by this issue. The huge Takata recall from the previous years, which affected numerous auto manufacturers it supplied for faulty safety technology installed in automobiles, is tied to this airbag issue. Nearly 90,000 of BMW's older automobile models, which were produced between 2000 and 2006, have a "Do Not Drive" warning. The warning was issued as a result of the identification of an airbag system that is seriously unsafe and endangers both drivers and passengers. At least 24 deaths have been related to Takata airbags on a global scale, and millions of vehicles from many different manufacturers have been recalled as a result of the flaw since the airbags first came under fire. The 2006 325i, 325xi, 330i, 330xi, as well as the 2004–2006 325Ci, 325Cic, 330Ci, 330Cic, and M3 vehicles are expressly included in BMW's warning. These cars are more likely to experience airbag ruptures, which, when they do, can send metal shards flying into the passenger area. Takata's airbags are devoid of a desiccant, which would keep them dry after years of exposure to heat and humidity and prevent them from inflating unnecessarily.
