The oldest member of the K-pop group BTS, Jin, has just finished five weeks of basic training in South Korea and updated fans on his mandatory military service. Jin posted on the Korean app Weverse, "I'm having fun. I'm posting a photo with permission from the military." He also added: "Army, always be happy and stay well." In addition to two selfies, the 30-year-old musician's post featured a picture of him standing proudly and wearing a mask. As soon as they saw Jin's message to the ARMY (BTS fans), a number of admirers on the internet, particularly on Twitter, voiced an outpouring of support for him. However, the age has occasionally been raised for K-pop celebrities. Jin has been chosen particularly to work as an assistant instructor at the Yeoncheon army camp in northern Gyeonggi province, according to CNN's citation of the South Korean military. Furthermore, early in December, Jin uploaded a photo to Weverse of a buzzcut he had just acquired before beginning his training. He made light of the fact that his new haircut, which he had before leaving for the military, was "cuter" than anticipated. The record company that represents BTS has asked that fans stay away from the musician while he is serving in the military on Weverse and promised to keep them informed in the interim. Moreover, the band's label first announced in October that all seven members of the K-Pop supergroup will fulfill their mandatory military service after the band's free concert in Busan, South Korea, in support of the country's bid for the World Expo.
