Cadillac claims its first electric race car is nearly ready for the January 24 Hours of Daytona. The V-LMDh has completed nearly 12,000 miles (19,000 kilometers) of on-track testing, besides a 24-hour test at Sebring International Raceway. Sebring, according to program manager Laura Wontrop Klauser, was the ideal testing ground.
Cadillac Racing will expose the final competition version, including liveries, of the three V-LMDh race cars in mid-January. A final test will be held at Daytona next week as part of the mandatory evaluations for all makers planning to compete in the new Grand Touring Prototype class. Cadillac intends to compete in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship with it.
