Does WiFi Go Through Walls? UCSB States New Way To Use Use It

(Image credit- How2do.org) Researchers in California have discovered that WiFi signals can be used to track the objects on the other side of a wall. They claimed this by demonstrating through an experiment in which the Wi-Fi can track complex shapes such as letters of the alphabet behind the wall. The University of California, Santa Barbara researchers created a "WiFi imaging" technique for a variety of items, focusing on letters from the English alphabet that had been cut out. Although this revolutionizes WiFi technology, it is impossible to spy on a neighbor. 

Does WiFi Go Through Walls? 

According to a news release, the researchers focused on high-quality photographs of objects while using WiFi to read through walls. The team claims that this is their interpretation of Joseph Keller's Geometrical Theory of Diffraction (GTD), sometimes known as a Keller cone, attempting to solve the problem of WiFi-based imaging or reading through walls. She continues, "We have then taken a completely different approach to tackle this challenging problem by focusing on tracing the edges of the objects instead." Only the ability to capture details that were previously impossible with WiFi is demonstrated. The researchers completed their experiment on tracing the boundaries of still objects with WiFi by creating " Wiffraction" from the GTD. Modern WiFi Technology and Its Impact

The internet connection that WiFi provides, which enables users to browse the web or use their many available apps to go online, is one of the most significant benefits it offers.  WiFi 6 is the WiFi technology standard of the upcoming generation, offering stronger connectivity. For the home network, WiFi 7 was just introduced, though. WiFi has been used for more than just wireless internet connections; it has aided in scientific and technological developments. In order to check on forms and motion, researchers have now used WiFi and artificial intelligence to monitor individuals through walls. They claim that this is a "low-cost" alternative to using cameras and LiDARs. The robust and future advancements of WiFi are anticipated to make it even more useful. Researchers from UC Santa Barbara have already used it to read through walls. They observed that a larger group of surfaces with a narrow enough curvature are affected by this interaction, which is restricted to clearly sharp edges.
