CES 2023-Bound Ram Revolution Concept Previews Electric Pickup

Ram hopes to have a presence in the expanding electric pickup market, where its main competitors already do. The business will travel to CES 2023 to present a concept dubbed Revolution that serves as a sneak peek at a battery-powered vehicle that is slated to appear in 2024. The complete design of the Revolution is yet unknown, but a sneak peek video posted to Facebook hints the pickup won't take style ideas from the current generation of Ram pickups. It has a "fierce, sleek, and heroic" appearance. According to what we can tell, the front of the Revolution will be distinguished by two two-piece LED headlamps, a large "RAM" emblem, and a hood that is lower than we're used to seeing on Ram trucks. Maintaining a low hood line will probably help the vehicle be more aerodynamic, which will increase its range. Speaking of range, Ram has already made audacious claims about the capabilities of its first foray into the electric vehicle market. The STLA Frame design, created by parent firm Stellantis to support electric trucks and SUVs, is the foundation of the Revolution, which should provide a range of up to 500 miles and be compatible with 150 kW fast charging. Those numbers, in our estimation, will only apply to the top-of-the-line model. It is reasonable to expect that, sooner or later, the lineup will include less expensive models with less driving range. TechCrunch wants to meet your startup at CES 2023 | TechCrunch How the electricity stored in what appears to be a huge battery pack will reach the pavement is still unknown. Ram has a variety of options, such as dual-motor through-the-road all-wheel drive, which would give each axle its own motor. This arrangement would also enable it to produce a rear-wheel-drive version and remove the front motor. It could also create a more complex three- or four-motor arrangement to release additional power. Rivian's R1T and R1S both have four electric motors, compared to GMC's Hummer EV's three electric motors. Intrigued? We are also. It won't take long before we find out more. The Revolution will be unveiled by Ram on January 5, 2023 at CES. In 2024, the idea will develop into a production vehicle that will compete with the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the Ford F-150 Lightning.
