Chance to name the next Jeep Electric Wagoneer S, maker looks to Internet for suggestions

Today, Jeep launched a contest to identify potential names from its community. The person who submits the chosen name would then receive a prize package worth $40,000. The grand prize winner will go skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Jeep has a site where you can submit ideas and fill out a form. The Jeep Wagoneer S is one of several electric vehicles lined up to join the automaker's line of products in the coming years. The Wagoneer S will be built on Jeep's STLA Large platform. Jeep expects the SUV to have up to 600 horsepower (441 kilowatts). It will be capable of reaching 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.5 seconds, with Jeep intending for a range of up to 400 miles. A dual-motor setup is possible, with all-wheel drive as standard and less powerful models also available. While the Wagoneer S will not be available for purchase for at least a year, reservations will be available in early 2023. That means Jeep will most likely make its public debut relatively soon. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January has become a popular venue for automakers to unveil new technology and electric vehicles, taking the place of the former Detroit Auto Show. Jeep teased the SUV's design, revealing a svelte crossover more akin to the Jeep Grand Cherokee than the beefy, full-size Wagoneer. The styling of the Wagoneer was described by the automaker as "unique, sleek, and aerodynamic." "All-terrain management" and "advanced Jeep brand-focused technology" will be standard.
