Chinese MNC Alibaba Opens A New Campus For Cloud Computing

According to Alibaba-owned South China Morning Post, “Alibaba Cloud also highlighted the campus’s eco-friendly designs in a video, including a photovoltaic power generation system, flowerpots made from recycled plastic, and high-efficiency, low-energy devices in the on-site coffee shop.” Alibaba Group Holding Limited launched a new campus for its cloud computing unit, Alibaba Cloud in Hangzhou which is the company’s home. The size of the campus is roughly about 2.1 million square feet which is almost the same as the Googleplex in California, Google’s headquarters. Alibaba Cloud Computing Alibaba’s net income fell 50% in the year during the second quarter but Alibaba Cloud had rapid growth amongst all its segments amounting to 9% of its income. The new venture is being rolled out when the country is facing an economic slowdown with the company looking to expand worldwide.   $1 billion money will be spent on upgrading the global partner ecosystem, according to Alibaba Cloud. It is the third largest EMQQ holder with 7.01% of the weighting. It gives exposure to investors on the internet and e-commerce services as people have access to smartphones with the internet. Emerging markets internet and e-commerce trace companies with online retail, SEO, online payments, online travel bookings, etc.
