Following the layoffs that reduced its workforce by half, Twitter may lose even more employees. Elon Musk allegedly issued an ultimatum to remaining employees. He requested that they commit to an "extremely hardcore" Twitter in the future. Those who do not sign the form by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, November 17th will be fired. Elon Musk explained in an email to his employees why Twitter is delaying the return of Blue verification until November 29th. According to The Washington Post, Twitter will conduct a postmortem on the rollout of its $8 Blue subscription service in the coming weeks. Due to an influx of fake accounts, the company was forced to halt its subscription service, which provided instant verification. Image: Photo by Lionel BONAVENTURE / AFP[/caption] In addition to reporting on Musk's email, The Washington Post reported that Twitter will conduct a postmortem on the release of its $8 Blue subscription over the coming weeks in order to understand why and how it led to an influx of impersonators. If you recall, Twitter had to halt its subscription service, which provided instant verification and thus gave fake accounts a semblance of authenticity. Musk just recently announced that the company is delaying the return of Blue verification until November 29th to ensure that it is "rock solid." That's a tiny fraction of Twitter's 238 million daily active users as of the second quarter of 2022, and it would only generate $14.4 million in annual revenue. The site's ad revenue is generated by only 10% of its most valuable users, with the leading 1% paying $40 per month.
