Just over a year after launching a variant powered by Intel Comet Lake-U, Chuwi has updated the CoreBook X once more. The Chuwi CoreBook X is now offered with an up-to-date Intel Alder Lake-U series processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512 GB of storage, and a 14-inch IPS display that outputs 1440p with a 3:2 aspect ratio.
A new iteration of the CoreBook X, which Chuwi last updated in early 2022, has begun to be sold. Recap: The CoreBook X 2022 utilized the Core i3-10110U, which Chuwi has now swapped out with the Core i3-1215U. Our information indicates that the Core i3-1215U should provide 2.1 times the performance of the Core i3-10110U while keeping a 15 W TDP.

The Core i3-1215U contains 2 P cores, 4 E cores, and 8 threads as a point of comparison. Moreover, the Alder Lake-U series processor incorporates a UHD Graphics iGPU with 64 Execution Units and may boost its P cores to 4.4 GHz when necessary. One of Intel’s many 10 nm processors is the Core i3-1215U. In other words, it ought to operate more effectively than the Core i3-10110U, which is based on a 14 nm process. Moreover, Chuwi may use faster LPDDR5 RAM in the new CoreBook X than the slower LPDDR4-2666 RAM available in the CoreBook X 2022 thanks to the processor swap.

However, other aspects of the CoreBook X are intact for the 2023 edition, which keeps a 14-inch IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. In addition, the laptop features a number of ports, as indicated below, and a 46.2 Wh battery that has an 8-hour usage rating. At the time of writing, Chuwi’s most recent CoreBook X with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD costs US$469.99. At US$499.99, the laptop is also offered with the same storage but 16 GB of RAM. On orders above US$300, Chuwi is also giving an additional US$30 off, bringing the prices of the two SKUs down to US$439.99 and US$469.99, respectively.
