In a "shocking and sustained" attack, a "out of control" dog severely mauled an 11-year-old girl, leaving her frightened and with permanent injuries, according to authorities. On September 28, at around 8.30 am, the victim—whose identity has not been released by the authorities—was strolling down Ben Jonson Road in Stepney Green when she came upon a man walking his two dogs. The moment the girl passed them, one of the dogs pounced at her and viciously bit her on the hand and arm. Only when a passing cab driver stepped in and freed the victim from the dog's hold did her misery come to an end. She suffered severe injuries, including shattered bones, and was transported right away to a hospital close by. Gratefully, she now has been released from the hospital but is said to have been left traumatized. A Met Police spokesman told The Sun, "Police were called at 08:31hrs to Ben Johnson Road, E1 after an 11-year-old girl was attacked by a dog. A member of the public intervened to free the victim. The owner of the dog left the scene prior to police arrival. The girl was taken to hospital for treatment to her hand - her condition is not life-threatening but may be life-changing. No arrests at this time. Inquiries are ongoing." Before the police came, the dog's owner fled the scene on Stepney Green's Ben Jonson Road. The Metropolitan Police on Monday, December 5 released video of the individual to aid in the search for him. The suspect can be seen walking two dogs on chain leashes while donning a baseball cap, bomber jacket, and tracksuit bottoms in the video. Detective Inspector Luke Hampton, who released the video, said, "This was a terrible and persistent attack on a little girl as she was walking to school. She suffered trauma as well as severe wounds, including broken bones, as a result of the incident. In order to prevent this from happening again, we need to locate the dogs' owner as soon as possible. Days after a girl was assaulted by family pets at home, this occurrence was reported. The dogs attacked the 16-year-old girl and her mother as the latter tried to step in and stop them. The youngster, who has not been named, was hurt during the incident at her Thousand Oaks home and was first said to be in a bad condition. Thankfully, she is anticipated to live. According to the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD), there were six huge dogs involved in the attack, and the girl was taken to the hospital in a bad condition.  "Animal control is currently securing the dogs," a VCFD spokesperson said in a tweet. "The girl and the dogs are from the same residence."
