Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid tried to recreate the iconic lift from 'Dirty Dancing' in a new humorous IG video

Nobody backs Johnny McDaid and Courteney Cox into a corner. The Friends star, 58, and Snow Patrol rocker, 46, released a home video on Sunday that featured a humorous spin on the famous lift from Dirty Dancing. Additionally, the actress and musician may be seen cuddled up on a couch watching the iconic last scene of the 1987 romance drama starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Then, Cox spoke to her partner, "I love this part," and then turned to him and asked, "Can we do it? The lift?" The singer nodded and responded, "Sure." The image then changed to the couple practicing the well-known technique in a backyard. And as "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes played, Cox was lifted up by two people — the couple's mutual friend Ed Sheeran and photographer and director Jason Koenig — before she and McDaid sprinted for one another. In addition, instead of Cox taking the leap of faith into McDaid's arms, the humorous video shows him trying to jump into Cox's arms as she moved out of the way and it all goes horribly wrong.

  The video then changed to an emergency car weaving through traffic while flashing its red lights and wailing its siren. Cox humorously captioned the post: "It's ok we're professionals." Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have been dating since 2013. Ed Sheeran, 31, a common acquaintance of the two, introduced the couple. In addition, after dating for nine months, Cox and McDaid became engaged. However, they later called off their wedding in late 2015. But the two then made up in 2016. Furthermore, last year, Cox shared a number of adorable photos of the couple throughout their relationship on her Instagram as a beautiful birthday tribute to her partner, who turned 46 in July 2022.
