DC is expanding its Universe Infinite comic book subscription service with a new Ultra tier that enables you to view comics digitally just one month after they hit store shelve. The new tier will be available starting on Monday for an initial price of $99 per year; however, this pricing is only valid through November 28th, and DC has not stated what it will cost after that date. At the moment, customers must wait six months before reading a new comic on DC Universe Infinite. Although the new tier might make the service more appealing to ardent comic book lovers, it is significantly more expensive than the normal subscription option, which costs $7.99 per month or $74.99 annually. DC is also including 5,000 unique titles from Vertigo, DC Black Label, and Collected Editions in addition to the shortened launch time, bringing the total number of comics available to Ultra members to nearly 32,000. The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, which has a special cover created by Ivan Reis, is the first physical comic book that everyone who upgrades to the new tier will be eligible to get for free. The addition of the new Ultra tier would enable DC Universe Infinite to compete with Marvel Unlimited, which in 2020 reduced the time between its digital release and three months. In addition to its regular $9.99/month and $69/year options, Marvel Unlimited also offers a $99/year Plus plan that includes exclusive merchandise, discounts at Disney's online store, and other benefits that are updated annually.
