Gaming chat programme Gas, a social networking platform for anonymous compliments and affirmations, is about to be acquired by Discord. Nikita Bier, a former product manager for Meta Platforms, founded and produced this. Teens can use the social networking platform Gas, which is jam-packed with features that emphasise positivity, such as anonymous compliments and positive affirmations. Users will be requested to express appreciation by participating in polls for rankings. To put it briefly, you must "gas up" your buddies in the app. The news that Discord will be buying Gas in the business was enthusiastically announced by the firm. The programme will however be available as a stand-alone programme. Especially considering that the company's "goal has been to allow people to develop community through enjoyable experiences and sincere interactions." Discord stated that the app's creators have a track record of developing and producing apps that are intended to provide users with thrilling experiences. Both businesses will endeavour to advance things through this agreement. Because the two apps are combined into one, this acquisition might be more effective than past alliances. According to the reports, Discord has 150 million active users who frequent millions of servers to talk about a variety of subjects and play games. Since its 2022 launch, Gas has received 10 million downloads and generated close to $7 million in revenue from users. The Wall Street Journal declared Gas the hottest app in October of last year, beating out other well-liked social apps in the Apple App Store charts. Gas encountered difficulties during its leave, despite finishing 2022 as well as any application on the market thanks to its popularity. According to TechCrunch, there was a persistent but unfounded sex trafficking claim about the app. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Discord acquires compliments-based app Gas - Investing.com India Image credit- Investing.com India[/caption] As a result of user worries, this affected the number of downloads for the application. Nikita Bier, the prank's creator, said that hundreds of people threatened him and his colleagues with death as a result of the hoax. The same scam has also affected IRL and WalkSafe, two other applications that gained popularity at the same time as Gas. The company recently declared that it would merge some of its applications into its servers, despite Discord's clarification that Gas will be a stand-alone application. This suggests that the integration may contain functions for Gas. "We're continually working to create an inclusive world where no one feels like an outcast and we're thrilled to welcome Gas to the Discord community as our next step to accomplishing that vision," Discord said in its release.
