Donald Studey: Excavation of land for remains after daughter claims 'serial killer' dad murdered over 70 women

According to reports, police have started looking for remains in suspected homicides in Iowa. Authorities conducted a second search of the property near Thurman, Iowa on December 6, 2022, after a lady allegedly informed police that her father was a prolific serial killer who had killed up to 70 women and instructed his children to assist in covering up their bodies. According to accounts, the accused Donald Dean Studey and his family may have resided near a well, and the area around it is where the authorities are frantically searching for a potential shallow grave near the mushroom trails. About 15 vehicles from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the FBI came up to the area mid-morning and closed it off, according to observers who saw the investigation take place. They were carrying a large piece of machinery. The FBI and the Iowa Division of Criminal Probe are working with the local police after Studey's daughter, Lucy Studey McKiddy, allegedly confessed to killing women "for years," including in 2007, prompting authorities to dig up a portion of the property, according to WHO-13, a source for Fox News. A 100-foot well on their Green Hollow Road farm is where Lucy claims her father once ordered her and her brothers dump the bodies of women he had slain. However, Susan Studey, Lucy's older sister, refuted the allegations, claiming that although their father was harsh, he was in no way a murderer. “I'm two years older than Lucy. I think I would know if my father murdered,” Sussan said, adding “I would know if my dad was a serial killer. He was not, and I want my father's name restored.” Lucy claims that the four children followed their father's instructions to "go to the hills" out of fear that they "wouldn't return back." She went on to say that her father made the kids move the corpses using a wheelbarrow in the summer and a sled in the winter. Her sister disputes these accusations. Sheriff Kevin Aistrope of Fremont County confirmed the probe on October 25, 2022, saying, "I believe her 100 percent that there are bodies in there." Authorities believe Studey lured women from Omaha, Nebraska who were allegedly sex workers to his five acres of land before killing them. Susan claims that during a previous search, after cadaver dogs were let loose on the property, police discovered the remains of a golden retriever, who may have tricked the cadaver dogs that were searching the area, as well as those of Donald's stillborn little sister, who was interred on the property in a shoebox. If his daughter's claims are confirmed today, 45 years after Studey's passing, he would be one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.
