More on the incident
At 11:22 GMT on Sunday, authorities were summoned to The Viaduct in Dover, where the explosives the suspect had thrown ignited a fire. The incident was captured on camera by a Reuters news agency photographer, who saw the man launch petrol bombs with pyrotechnics attached before killing himself. Furthermore, the incident left two people who were inside the center with minor wounds.
Suella Braverman, the home secretary, called the attack "distressing." In addition, Natalie Elphicke, a Dover Conservative MP, expressed her dismay and alarm over the current situation. She urged for immediate Anglo-French efforts to stop small boat Channel crossings and mentioned that there had been another incident over the weekend but did not go into detail.
On another note, the event is not currently being treated as terrorism, according to Kent Police, who is in charge of the inquiry. Mr. Collor was questioned by BBC Breakfast about the worries Dover people were voicing.
