Download Ubuntu 22.10 "Kinetic Kudu" Now

Desktop running Ubuntu 22.10 "Kinetic Kudu" Ubuntu 22.10 "Kinetic Kudu" has the new 5.19 Linux kernel, numerous upgraded programs and subsystems, and much more with a brief service period that ends in July 2023. The community editions of Kubuntu, Budgie, MATE, Unity and Xubuntu have all been updated to 22.10 in addition to the standard release.
Ubuntu 22.10 "Kinetic Kudu," which has a number of observable improvements, was released earlier today. The only time this version will be supported is through July 2023 because it is not an LTS version. The most recent LTS release still on the market is Ubuntu 22.04 "Jammy Jellyfish," which will receive support through 2027.
Apparently, Canonical "Enterprise developers and IT managers will benefit from this interim release. It also contains the most recent toolchains and software with an emphasis on the IoT ecosystem."
Rust, Ruby, Go, GCC, and other toolchain upgrades are included in Ubuntu 22.10. SSHd is not launched if an incoming connection request is not received since OpenSSH by default uses system socket activation. Additionally supported by the current edition are a number of microcontrollers, including the Raspberry Pi Pico W, and MicroPython.
The Kinetic Kudu Release Notes website has a complete list of changes, along with additional highlights like the updated 5.19 kernel, PipeWire being used as the default audio server rather than PulseAudio, GNOME 43, Firefox 106, LibreOffice 7.4, Thunderbird 102, and many others.
At the time of publication, Lubuntu, Kylin, and Ubuntu Studio are the community editions that have not yet been updated to version 22.10. Kubuntu, Budgie, MATE, Unity, and Xubuntu are the ones that have already been updated.
