Google recently unveiled Wear OS 4 at I/O 2023, its yearly developer conference. The business has also acknowledged that Wear OS is the world’s fastest-growing smartwatch platform. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series of smartwatches will soon support WhatsApp for Watch OS, which Google and Meta have recently developed together.
For the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5, Wear OS 4 is available, with a OneUI Watch 5 skin on top. All of the new capabilities and features of the most recent watch OS version will be included in the update.

The beta version of WhatsApp for Wear OS is now available on the Google Play Store, though the stable version is anticipated to become official before the end of the year. Users can download and use WhatsApp beta on their smartwatches if they have access to it through the Play Store.
How to install WhatsApp on a Wear OS smartwatch is shown below.
- Go to the Google Play Store and search for WhatsApp
- You will see an option “available on more devices”
- If you have an eligible smartwatch paired with your phone, you should see the same
- Click on the “Install” button, which will automatically download and install WhatsApp on your smartwatch
- If your watch has an active internet connection, then it will continue to receive messages, and you can also respond to them directly from the watch

Be aware that your Wear OS-powered smartwatch has the ability to sideload WhatsApp. The developer settings must first be enabled, and the app must then be wirelessly sent to the wristwatch.
