According to Reuters, the German publication Die Aktuelle has sacked its editor and apologized to the family of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher for publishing an AI-fenerated interview with the legendary Formula One driver. After suffering a severe head injury while skiing in the French Alps in December 2013, Schumacher hasn't been seen since. We previously reported that the 54-year-old's family intended to file a lawsuit against the magazine, which is run by the Essen-based Funke media group, according to the source. On its website, the organization posted a statement.

“This tasteless and misleading article should never have appeared. It in no way meets the standards of journalism that we — and our readers — expect from a publisher like Funke,” Bianca Pohlmann, Funke magazine managing director, said in the statement. “As a result of the publication of this article, immediate personnel consequences will be drawn."
