Elon Musk Bans Several Journalists on Twitter After Bringing back Literal Nazis

Elon Musk, arguably the world's pettiest man, banned a minimum of nine journalists from Twitter on Thursday night. While the journalists haven't been told what prompted the bans, many have posted on twitter that tracked Elon Musk's private jet using publicly available data. The journalist bans, known as "permanent suspensions" on Twitter, come after Musk banned the @ElonJet account on Wednesday, later describing that he believed it posed a threat to his family's safety. Musk has stated that he intends to sue the college student who managed to run the account. Musk had previously stated that the account would not be banned because he strongly believed in free speech. Musk showed up to confirm that the bans only applied to his private jet, writing late Thursday on Twitter, "Same doxxing law applies to 'journalists' as to everyone else." eLON Musk also briefly participated in a Twitter Spaces conversation moderated by BuzzFeed journalist Katie Notopoulos, during which he stated that journalists were not special and would be banned for any "doxxing" behaviour. Musk claimed the journalists who've been banned disclosed his address, something that simply isn't true. When journalists in the Twitter Spaces conversation attempted to ask Musk follow-up questions, he simply left the conversation. The company told Gizmodo that these accounts were "putting people at risk," but provided no further details. Despite being unable to see his tweets or direct messages, Binder was able to join a Twitter Spaces conversation on Thursday night. "Any accounts that breach our privacy policies and endanger other users will be suspended," says Twitter COO Kevin Irwin. Elon Musk's Twitter conversation with journalist Nick Notopoulos seems to to have been cut off in the middle. ElonJet account manager Jack Sweeney, a 20-year-old college student, speculated that journalists were barred due to an LAPD stalker story. Sweeney: I believe it all began with Donie O'Sullivan. Sweeney said he put that thing where they said they didn't report it to police. Elon Musk launched a Twitter poll to determine whether he should reinstate journalists who had been banned for tweeting about the ElonJets account. After his first poll suggests that most people wanted the journalists returned "now," Musk evidently didn't like that result. Musk appears to be looking for confirmation that his choices are popular and that he is liked personally.
