A survey asking his followers if they thought he should resign was conducted after that, and 57.5% responded in the affirmative. Elon Musk became the platform's top executive after buying Twitter for $44 billion in October, dissolving the board of directors and dismissing a number of seasoned professionals, including the former CEO Parag Agrawal. But after making this revelation, he made it clear that his position as the only director was just temporary while he looked for a replacement. Six months after the entire transaction, Musk has now declared that he will resign from the role while he searches for a new CEO. The next CEO, who will begin in approximately six weeks, is a woman, according to a Bloomberg story. Musk did not give his replacement a name, but he did say she will also be in charge of X. According to the reports, he made an effort to make up for this failure by launching Twitter Blue, a new membership service that offers a number of enticing extras like access to the edit button and the capacity to create longer tweets. Additionally, the blue checkmarks are now limited to Twitter Blue, denying it access to non-paying customers, even from respectable accounts with millions of followers that are both credible and well-known. Government and other corporate accounts in the private sector will continue to display verification checkmarks via a unique set of icons in silver and gold.
