Elon Musk waits to launch Blue Verified Twitter until he has "high confidence" on it

Twitter's Blue Verified twitter checkmark system won't go live until Elon Musk finds a more effective way to deal with fake accounts. Musk tweeted on Monday night, "Holding off the relaunch of Blue Verified until there is a high certainty of stopping imitation. Without going into further detail, he continued, "There will probably be different color checkmarks for companies and individuals." The development follows his equally turbulent takeover of the business late last month, which resulted in a disorganized redesign of Twitter's authentication procedure. Twitter gave grey checkmark badges to legitimate government accounts for a week before taking them away. It then permitted users to acquire a blue checkmark via its $8 subscription services, before discontinuing that provision. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, beams as he addresses attendees at the Offshore Northern Seas 2022 (ONS) conference on August 29, 2022, in Stavanger, Norway.  Musk had previously stated that any account using impersonation without explicitly defining "parody" would be permanently suspended by Twitter.  Musk said feeds involved in parody must going forward include "parody" in their name, not only in their bio after a wave of parody accounts fueled more uncertainty and mayhem on the network.
