The RAM TRX is still among the market's hottest performance cars and trucks even though it frequently breaks down on jumps and is still attempting to overtake the Ford Raptor as the most well-liked performance truck. The market's willingness to shell out six figures for the supercharged RAM suggests that customers want another option for a show truck with a lot of power, and judging by sales figures, they've been waiting for the TRX. It only took a few years for tuning companies to start producing their high-performance versions after gearheads and buyers became numb to the TRX's 702 horsepower. Find Out Why The RAM 1500 TRX Tyrant Beats The Ford F-150 Lightning The all-new Tyrant package RAM TRX built by Granger Motors in Iowa was tested today by The Fast Lane Truck on YouTube. The results, which came from managing to extract more horsepower from the enormous 6.2L V8, were nothing short of spectacular. But not before the Ford F-150 Lightning defeated the TRX in a drag race in the thin Colorado air, giving the TRX a chance to prove itself. A RAM TRX, The Ford F-150 Lightning, Is Up Against The Tyrant package, a modified TRX that boasts 787 horsepower and 702 lb-ft of torque (up from 702 hp and 650 lb-ft), was created by some brilliant gearheads who wondered, "What if we made a Hellcat version of the TRX?" Instead of simply adding performance modifications without paying attention to the engine's internals, the tuning company's engineers built the Tyrant with durability and repeatability. The RAM TRX Tyrant will destroy the competition and do so run after run on the drag strip, from upgrading the supercharger pulley to an oil catch can, upgraded spark plugs, bigger fuel injectors, and an ECU update, among other things. Find Out Why The RAM 1500 TRX Tyrant Beats The Ford F-150 Lightning The Ford F-150 Lightning Is Slower Than The RAM TRX, via TheFastLaneTruck through YouTube. Of course, the Lightning is in a different league than the TRX Tyrant. Still, it was a formidable opponent for the stock TRX, demonstrating the superiority of EVs in Colorado's thin air. But now that the race is being held closer to sea level, where it is well known that the thick oxygen molecules make for excellent engine combustion, the situation would be quite different. The stock TRX hustled down the quarter-mile in 12.97 seconds, about half a second faster than the Ford, quickly dispatching the Lightning. But there was no denying that the " Tyrant " 's most advanced TRX was shorter than the stock TRX, with a quarter-mile time of 12.63 seconds.
