First 12-nm-class DDR5 DRAM with 7.2Gbps speed unveiled by Samsung

In March, Samsung debuted a 7.5 Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM solution, only to raise the bar with the fastest LPDDR5X DRAM in the market in September. The 7.2 Gbps speed stated by Samsung for the new chips is nothing to be embarrassed about, even though the 8.5 Gbps record set back then wasn't broken by today's new solution. The industry's first 12 nm class boasts the highest die density to date, which has resulted in a 20% boost in wafer productivity. Samsung Electronics' Executive Vice President of DRAM Product & Technology, Jooyoung Lee, claims that the 12 nm-range DRAM "will be a significant enabler in pushing market-wide adoption of DDR5 DRAM." Further, by offering top performance and power efficiency, this technology is anticipated "to serve as the cornerstone for more sustainable operations in sectors such as next-generation computing, data centers, and AI-driven systems." Along with the previously noted increase in wafer yield, the 12 nm-class DRAM also offers greater efficiency. The power consumption of this solution is up to 23% lower than that of the previous generation, according to Samsung. https://www.gadgetany.com/news/after-christmas-samsung-will-release-its-pokemon-cases-for-the-galaxy-z-flip-4-and-galaxy-buds-2-pro/ The first 12 nm-class DRAM devices will probably be available by mid-2023, but Samsung has not provided a precise release date. This is based on the information that has been made public thus far.
