According to Engadget, the first Blue Boat Initiative AI-powered buoy has been deployed by the Chilean government and the MERI Foundation. Whale protection and the study of underwater habitats are the goals. The smart buoy, which is seen floating in the Gulf of Corcovado, will warn ships when blue, humpback, right, and sei whales are around to help prevent accidents. The smart buoy employs oceanographic sensors and Listening to the Deep Ocean Environment (LIDO) software with AI to identify the kind and position of the mammal.  Additionally, it monitors oxygen levels, temperature, and other factors to assess the condition of the ocean. First Ai-powered Buoy to Track Ocean Ecosystems and Protect Whales In order to safeguard whales throughout the gulf, the effort seeks to deploy six or more buoys. The long-term goal of the project's participants is to cover the entire migratory path between Antarctica and the equator.  As a result, it can lessen collisions that occur across entire habitats of organisms and contribute to better-informed governmental decisions on the environment and its protection.
