As first reported by electrek, the urban air mobility (UAM) company AeroHT, owned by XPeng, has successfully launched, flown, and landed its fifth-generation X2 "flying car" in public at a demonstration in Dubai. A sixth-generation flying automobile, a real car with wheels that can drive, take off, and fly, was also updated by the company. Previous eVTOL prototypes included the T1 in 2019 and the X1 in 2020. Even though it doesn't have wheels, AeroHT refers to the X2, the company's fifth-generation "flying vehicle," because it shares a lot of similarities with the P7 sedan from XPeng Motors in terms of design. XPeng's XPeng AeroHT had earlier published aerial footage of the X2 being tested in difficult circumstances and at tremendous altitudes, but it was only done in China. As it moves closer to constructing its sixth-generation model, a true flying automobile revealed last October, XPeng AeroHT has shown off the capabilities of its fifth-generation flying car in public in Dubai. But today, for the first time, the general public can witness the unedited video of the eVTOL's takeoff, flight, and landing!  Also Read: “Most Eco-Friendly Car in the World” Prototype revealed by HWA & DLR Following the live demonstration in Dubai, XPeng AeroHT issued a comprehensive press release outlining the event, the company's growth, and its prospects. This first public flight was backed by the Dubai International Chamber of Commerce, which significantly participated in the entire process and offered counselling to XPeng AeroHT. More than 150 people attended. At Gitex Global, one of the largest technology expos ever hosted in the Dubai World Trade Center, the X2 flying car is on display this week. XPeng's The XPeng X2 was moved off-site to Skydive Dubai, where it completed the detailed operations risk evaluations required by the DCAA with success. It was therefore granted permission to carry out its maiden open flight outside of China. XPeng AeroHT promises to reveal significant R&D improvements in the configuration, exterior design, and air driving technique for this flying car in a teaser video posted from Dubai. Such information will be made available on October 24 during this year's 1024 Tech Day. More information will be made public later this month, according to electrek.
