Florida parents enraged after school allows students with sodomy accusations to return

The allegations that two eighth-grade males at Williston Middle-High in Williston, Florida, sexually assaulted another kid and were then permitted to return to school have enraged the parents of Williston Middle High students.
According to a report from Gainesville, Florida news station WCJB 20 that was released on Friday, November 18, reporters spoke with a number of parents about the upsetting incident. Two adolescent guys are charged with using a pipe to sodomize a sixth-grader, recording the assault, and uploading the video on social media. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office have been assigned to the case and are looking into it as a possible battery. The outlet also stated that the incident happened outside of a school, in Marion County.
On November 9, a statement concerning the worrying circumstance was published on the school's Facebook page. Since the original revelation of an ongoing law enforcement investigation involving SBLC children in another county, the School Board of Levy County has been in contact with local law enforcement officials. To preserve the safety of all students, the SBLC has taken precautions to minimize any interactions between any parties involved, according to the message.
Miranda Stewart, whose children attend Williston Middle-High, spoke to WCJB 20 on Friday about how the institution is addressing the situation. She stated that she is not happy that the aforementioned students were permitted to return to campus.
“It’s going to affect the way people view you as a school board to say this didn’t happen here and I understand innocent until proven guilty and all of that but if there’s an investigation, they don’t need to be going to school,” Stewart shared. The mother believes the two boys’ families are trying to keep the issue under wraps.
“They didn’t want it to go out, they wanted people to delete the social media, they wanted people to delete the Reddit and things like that. It shouldn’t be something that’s quiet, this is something that affects everybody who has a child that attends Levy County — obviously not every school, but the middle-high school clearly,” Stewart shared with WCJB 20. “I had questions about it, and my children expressed to me that they did not want those children to come back to school, and that they felt it was wrong, and that those boys should be held accountable. So, I was like somebody obviously needs to say something or do something to make this known because they were kind of sweeping it under the rug,” she added.
