For The 2024 iPad Pro And MacBook Air, Apple Might Switch To OLED Panels

In 2024, Apple will use OLED screens for its MacBook Air and iPad Pro models, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which now has a mini-LED display, the MacBook Air, and the iPad Pro 11, which both employ IPS LCDs, would all change as a result. Young asserts that several products, including the MacBook Air, will offer Apple's ProMotion technology with a customizable refresh rate of 120 Hz. Apple only released a mini-LED iPad Pro last year. One of the greatest displays on the market was provided by the 12.9-inch tablet's relatively new display technology, but if reports are to be believed, Apple may soon switch from mini-LED to OLED. Additionally, other Apple products may also move to OLED in the future, not only the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Apple will choose an OLED panel for the 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro models in 2024, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. Young claims that an OLED panel will also be used in the 2024 MacBook Air. This confirms earlier forecasts made by others about Apple's likely usage of OLEDs in its MacBook range. OLED would be utilized for the first time in both an iPad and a MacBook product. Presently, all MacBooks other than the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 have IPS panels, as do all Apple iPads (with the exception of the aforementioned 12.9-inch iPad Pro). Mini-LED is used by both the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 models. Many people also believe that Apple's ProMotion will soon be added to the MacBook Air, bringing it into parity with the MacBook Pro 14 and 16. However, the evidence for this rumor is essentially conjecture. It is unlikely that Apple will increase the refresh rate on the less expensive MacBook Air to 120 Hz given that the MacBook Pro 13 does not yet feature ProMotion. Be skeptical of this rumor as you would any other. If this report is true, we won't see an OLED MacBook Air or iPad Pro for more than a year.
