The new processor is intended to provide robust entertainment experiences as well as performance improvements to a large variety of smartphones. This latest platform is an advancement of last year's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which was already a step forward from the replaced older Snapdragon 700 series. It began bridging the gap with the premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which is a trend that continues with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 this year. Importance of Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 While being built on the same process of 4-nanometer like how the processor was made last year, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 boasts performance and enhancements formerly reserved for the Qualcomm 8-series chips which were more expensive. This features Qualcomm's Kryo CPU providing 50% faster performance with peak rates of up to 2.91GHz, and the Qualcomm Adreno GPU, which doubles graphic performance. However, even with these advancements, Qualcomm has managed to improve power efficiency by 13% and incorporate on-device AI across the entire platform. Efficiency in battery is increased with integrated Qualcomm AI Engine doubling in performance.
