Ford Indicates Formula 1 Return in 2026—In Collaboration with Red Bull?

After a 24-year absence from the world-famous racing circuit, Ford is making a comeback in Formula One (F1).
Stefano Domenicali, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of F1, enthusiastically welcomed the famed automaker's long-awaited return. The announcement that Ford will join Formula 1 starting in 2026, according to F1's top executive, is fantastic for the sport.
Domenicali added that they "are pleased to have them join the outstanding automotive partners already in Formula 1" and expressed their excitement further.
Additionally, the CEO emphasized that the American automaker has a "great tradition" not only in racing but also in the automotive industry. The F1 President thinks that the big automaker's return to the global racing competition is a result of F1's promise to be carbon neutral by 2030.

The F1 wants to start using sustainable fuels in the race cars of the competitors as early as 2026.
Bill Ford, the executive chairman of Ford, declared that "this is the beginning of a fascinating new chapter" in the American automaker's motorsports history. He mentioned that his great-grandfather, none other than Henry Ford, won a race, starting their career in the world of motorsports.
It is important to note that Ford's involvement in Formula One dates back to the 1960s, as noted in the F1 press release. As a result, the massive automaker ranks as the third-most successful engine manufacturer in Formula 1 history.
And now, just in time for the new engine rules, Ford is back at it and joining the thrilling fun in 2026.

Ford is teaming up with Red Bull Racing for its return to Formula One, after a record 24-year exile from the world competition, according to a recent report.
Ford will provide immediate technical help for the show's current season to kick begin their collaboration.

However, Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri will start employing Ford hybrid engines in 2026. According to the reports, Ford and the constructors champion from last season will work together for at least eight years.
It should be mentioned that Max Verstappen, the two-time defending world champion, drives for Red Bull Racing.
