A former Block-Fi executive has been appointed by Alphabet's Google to serve as the Asia-Pacific Web3 head. The startup wants to make it possible for the Web3 ecosystem to develop new blockchain-based web uses and applications.
After serving as vice president of Asia for two and a half years, Rishi Ramchandani left his post to become the Asia Pacific Web3 Lead for Google, the largest search engine in the world, shortly after crypto-lender BlockFi declared bankruptcy.
According to
reports, this could be a part of Google's strategy to support the Web3 ecosystem, which will offer them an advantage over rival businesses as they develop new web uses and applications using this technology.

According to a Google representative, this will be made feasible through allowing the creation, exchange, and storage of new items. Customers from leading cryptocurrency and Web3-related businesses like Coinbase Global Inc., Dapper Labs Inc., Sky Mavis Inc., Nansen, and Hedera will be among the company's clients.
Ramchandani has already updated his
LinkedIn page and received welcome messages from various coworkers. Mitesh Agarwal, a managing director at Google who is responsible for partner engineering, customers of its cloud services, and Web3-related initiatives, also welcomed the new hire.
Ramchandi wrote in a post on his profile, "Looking forward to the next phase of my career! I'm excited to collaborate with the wonderful people in APAC and expand Google Cloud's #web3 initiatives there."
