After her father-in-law Donald Trump announced his 2024 presidential campaign, Fox News, which has a long-standing policy of not hiring anyone connected to an active campaign, terminates Lara Trump's employment. Lara worked as a key consultant and surrogate for him during his 2020 presidential campaign. On Saturday, December 2, the network officially announced that it had severed company with Lara, the former president's daughter-in-law. Only a year ago, Lara started contributing for the network with a conservative slant. According to the Daily Mail, Lara is no longer eligible to receive a salary from the news network as a result of Donald launching his run for the White House in 2024 in November. Additionally, she has decided to resign and has effectively indicated she will support the most recent Trump White House bid. Her separation from the network is said to be amicable and exclusively motivated by business policy. Former White House officials and political operatives have typically been welcomed as contributors at cable networks, according to the LA Times. Fox News has made it mandatory to not hire anyone involved in active campaigns or who is directly related to any of them. "I get a strange feeling that I have been a part of the team informally for a very long time. I would visit there so frequently over the past five years that the security officers joked that perhaps we should just give you a key. I am ecstatic to join the team as a result "When she started working for the network in 2021, she stated on Fox & Friends. Lara is a fierce defender of her father-in-law and frequently appeared on Fox News to do so. When questioned about Donald's attempt at a third run on Fox Business Network, Lara immediately refuted that assertion. "I'm sure you're very supportive of your father-in-law, but to those of us on the outside looking at it, it didn't seem as though he's got the old magic, you know what I mean?" asked Anchor Stuart Varney. "Oh, well, I highly disagree with that," she said in response. Fox News has reduced its on-air criticism of Donald to a minimum. The New York Post and Wall Street Journal, two of its sister newspapers, have publicly criticized Donald, his prospects of winning, and the effects of his second term, according to the site. Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of Fox News' parent company Fox Corporation, is believed to have made it clear that he does not support the former president's plan to make a third run for the White House, which may be the reason for Lara's departure.
