A few months after its debut, Frontier is already discontinuing support for F1 Manager 2022, their management simulator for racing games. F1 Manager 2022, Frontier's entry into the motorsport simulation genre, is an extremely complex game that allows us to award Lewis Hamilton the victory he rightfully deserves, but it turns out that it won't be receiving much post-release support.
F1 Manager 2022 was released only two months ago, and Frontier said in a Reddit post that the "next update for F1 Manager 2022 will be the last significant update that addresses player-reported feedback, or suggested changes and additions. Any potential updates following this would be minor patches that do not noticeably affect gameplay.”
Additionally, Frontier says that it is listening to "key reports and requests" from the community. But, these updates will be present in upcoming releases and not in F1 Manager 2022. Moreover, Frontier made an effort to reassure fans by saying that interactions between devs and the community wouldn't come to an end at that point and that they would continue to consider suggestions and critiques from the community. However, this didn't appear to stop the complaints.
What's more
F1 Manager 2022 has been criticized heavily for having annoying glitches, such as a problem with overtaking, as well as issues with the Drag Reduction System, a feature that makes cars move much more quickly along straight areas of the track.
On another note, the inability to unlap their car when under a safety car, problems with signing up drivers mid-season, and AI drivers trying to keep up with car development over the course of a season were among problems that players brought up in the comments below the Reddit announcement. Plus, each of these issues is crucial to a driving game, thus it is disappointing that they won't be included in F1 Manager until a later update.

Furthermore, Fans were clearly not amused by the scenario - feeling betrayed and abandoned, many of them voiced their opinions in the comments area. The dev team's transition to F1 Manager 2023 is a major source of dissatisfaction. And although the company seems to be aware of the problems with the game, it seems that they will only be fixing them in subsequent updates.
More details
Frontier Developments' previous games, such as Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster, were single releases that received support for a very long time after release. F1 Manager 2022 is their first foray into a yearly release cycle. In addition, the crew must leave the previous release behind to go on to the new one because that is how this type of release works, much like with FIFA and Madden.
With just minor updates between versions, as with FIFA, this method of publishing has the unintended consequence of making the franchise stale. Besides, they won't have time to spend improving F1 Manager 2022 because of the need to keep up with the new sporting season and the pressure to check this box. However, for other players, this might have permanently turned them off the show.
