Netgear announces a USB adapter that brings WiFi 6E to supporting systems using USB.3xTypeA connection for adopting it quickly. But first, do you know that WiFi 6E is available? Yes, it is available, but you would not know if you looked at average households even though it was launched a few years ago. The shortages in parts, customer satisfaction, and the expected arrival of WiFi 7 have resulted in it not getting attention. On Wednesday, the San Jose, California-based company announced Netgear's Nighthawk AXE3000 WiFi 6E USB 3.0 Adapter, A8000, works with desktops and laptops. It is of note that it supports the 2.4 GHz band at up to 600 Mbps, the 5 GHz band at up to 1,200 Mbps, and the 6 GHz band at up to 1,200 Mbps. WiFi 6E There is a flip-open antenna and an optional cradle to hold the adapter and connect to a PC using a USB-A cable, and for improved signal, the antenna can be moved. Unfortunately, without a WiFi 6 router, there is nothing much that can be made of the adapter, and the router cannot be used on Mac. WiFi 6E is the next level of WiFi 6 by uses the 6 GHz band with 2.4 and 5 GHz for decreased congestion and latency. But with shorter wavelengths, shorter distances are maxed out more with blockages like walls, and it depends on the speed your internet provider can generate. WiFi 6E   By 2024, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is expected to finalize the WiFi 7 version, with participants like Intel looking to launch WiFi 7 PCs by 2025. WiFi 7 should improve WiFi 6E by bumping max channel bandwidth from 160 MHz to 320 MHz and increasing throughput by up to 20 percent as it moves from 1,024 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) to 4,096 QAM and introduces multi-link operation (MLO) and multi-resource unit puncturing. It is not guaranteed that adding WiFi 6E to your system is simple, but if you have the space, gear, and interest, Netgear is releasing the adapter AXE3000 at $90 this month.
