Get-Rich-Quick Scams on Meta-Owned Platforms: TSB Bank Warns! How to Recognize Them

(Image credit- National World) A prominent commercial bank in the United Kingdom, TSB Bank, is currently alerting customers of the rise of get-rich-quick frauds on platforms controlled by Meta. According to an investigation by the financial company, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are the sources of the three types of fraud that the company sees the most. Particularly, the aforementioned internet platforms that Meta owns are where 80% of these harmful ads originate. The most recent analysis by TSB Bank includes its own internal data from the previous two years. The most recent revelation from Sky News quotes TSB Bank as saying that investment, impersonation, and purchase scams are spreading like wildfire on Meta-owned sites. Due to this, the commercial bank has started alerting users to stay away from unsolicited messages from strangers who pose as their friends, family members, or relatives. In addition, TSB Bank suggested avoiding Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram in favor of well-known investment platforms. TSB Bank is requesting that social media companies take down scams from their platforms as of this writing. The TSB Director of Fraud Prevention, Paul Davis, stated that social media companies "must immediately clean up their platforms to protect the countless innocent people who use their services every day." In the interim, he continued, "We are advising the public to be on the lookout for potential scam content and to spread the information to help protect people around you. Cold phoning, spam emails, social media advertisements, and social media messages are the most common methods used to disseminate these financial scams.
