Google Assistant Uses "Personalized Speech Recognition" On Pixel 7 & 7 Pro For Better Efficiency

On the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Google Assistant uses "Personalized speech recognition" in-app to become "better at recognising your unique speaking style, words, and phrases." Names of persons and locations that are less well-known or more particular to you may be included in this. Typed inquiries and other recognised text are also used in Google's Personalized speech recognition, which "saves and learns from your Assistant interactions, including audio, securely on your device." By "selecting a suggestion chip, directly altering the content in an Assistant interaction, or repeating your query back-to-back," Google advises customers to correct Assistant. Your previous corrections can help Google Assistant learn from its errors and become better over time. On your Pixel 7, navigate to Assistant settings > You > Your voice recognition > Personalized speech recognition off/on to turn it off. Any Assistant interactions that were used to train the model will be removed from your phone after disabling. The ability to disable will have no effect on how data is gathered, saved, or used for Assistant Voice Typing on Gboard, Voice and Audio Activity, Voice Match, Personal Results, Improve Assistant through Federated Learning, Improve Gboard through Federated Learning, or Web & App Activity.
